ABSTRACT

This study was carried out to examine  training parents of children with attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder (adhd) in behaviour modification skills to motivate the children to learn in Benny Child Care services Lagos state. Specifically, the study examined  the level of awareness of parents about (ADHD), examine the effectiveness of training of parents in behaviour modification skills, evaluated the challenges of training parents of children with ADHD andproffer solutions to these problems. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 36 responses were validated from the survey. The study adopted the activity theory. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that Most parents are aware of ADHD. Furthermore, Training  in behaviour modification skills of parents of children with ADHD are effective. The study recommend that There should be adequate and timely training for counselors. More so, There should be access to up to date technology and training methods
